Tributes Paid to Qazi Abdul Wahid on His Anniversary in Rawalpindi

Rawalpindi, In a significant gathering at the Rawalpindi Art Council, leaders and members of the Jammu and Kashmir Pir Panjal Freedom Movement convened to honor the memory of the party’s founder and former APHC leader, Qazi Abdul Wahid, on his third death anniversary.

According to Kashmir Media Service, the commemorative event was presided over by Mahmood Ahmed Saghar, a senior Hurriyat leader and APHC-AJK Convener. Distinguished Hurriyat leaders including Chaudhry Shaheen Iqbal, Imtiaz Wani, Abdul Majeed Mir, Mushtaq-ul-Islam, Zafar Mahmood Jaral, Ayaz Ahmad Butt, Muhammad Mubasher, Qazi Imran, and Haji Aftab Arif delivered speeches in tribute to Qazi Abdul Wahid.

The ceremony also paid homage to Muhammad Riaz, affectionately known as Abu Qasim Shaheed, who fell victim to Indian aggression in Rawalakot, Azad Kashmir, on October 8, 2023. His contributions to the freedom movement were highlighted alongside those of Qazi Abdul Wahid.

Participants included representatives from the refugee communities of Kotli, Mirpur, Bagh, Rawalpindi, Islamabad, and various Hurriyat leaders such as Khawaja Ayaz, Mirza Zafar, Mirza Riaz, Shabbir Ahmad Chechi, Chaudhry Mukhtar, and many others. Their presence underscored the broad support and respect for the movement’s martyrs and leaders.

The speakers emphasized the enduring legacy of Qazi Abdul Wahid and other martyrs of the Jammu and Kashmir freedom struggle, pledging to continue their mission until achieving complete success. The event served not only as a tribute but also as a reaffirmation of the commitment to the cause for which they sacrificed.
