Training Initiative Empowers Women at Pakistan Bait-ul-Mal Centers

Islamabad: Pakistan Bait-ul-Mal (PBM), in partnership with the Zakat Foundation of America, has launched a “Training Programme and Workshop for Skill Development and Capacity Building on DigiSkills” aimed at empowering women at PBM’s Women Empowerment Centers. The initiative seeks to provide participants with updated market knowledge and skills, enhancing their confidence and motivation.

According to a statement by Pakistan Bait-Ul-Mal, the ceremony, held in Islamabad, saw Managing Director Senator Capt. Shaheen Khalid Butt and Country Head of Zakat Foundation of America Dr. Fazal-ur-Rahman awarding certificates to the participants. The initiative is part of an effort to bolster women’s socio-economic rights through education and training.

Senator Capt. Shaheen Khalid Butt highlighted the importance of women’s education, describing empowered women as essential for national progress and economic prosperity. He noted that PBM, established in 1991 by Mian Muhammad Nawaz Sharif, aims to alleviate poverty and improve the lives of disadvantaged individuals by promoting Pakistan as a social welfare state.

The program currently engages 13,000 women in skill development training, with a total of 341,000 women having completed similar programs. Senator Butt expressed gratitude to Dr. Fazal-ur-Rahman for ZFA’s support and emphasized the need for continued collaboration to uplift vulnerable populations.

Dr. Fazal-ur-Rahman emphasized the importance of digital skills in his remarks, highlighting ZFA’s global humanitarian efforts and the potential for strengthening ties with PBM to support those in need.
