Islamabad: President Asif Ali Zardari has extended his felicitations to the President of the Swiss Confederation, Guy Parmelin, the Federal Council, and the people of Switzerland on their National Day. In a statement, President Zardari emphasized the warm and cordial relations between Pakistan and Switzerland, highlighting mutual trust, shared values, and constructive cooperation as the foundation of their relationship.

According to Radio Pakistan, President Zardari underscored the importance Pakistan places on its multifaceted relationship with Switzerland, with particular emphasis on trade, investment, technology, agriculture, pharmaceuticals, mountain tourism, climate resilience, and textiles. He noted that both nations are committed to international peace and maintain productive engagement across various multilateral forums.

President Zardari acknowledged Switzerland’s role in promoting global peace, mentioning its hosting of several important global bodies, including the United Nations. He highlighted the historical presence of Pakistan’s permanent mission in Geneva as a testament to this enduring partnership. The President expressed his confidence that the friendship and collaboration between the two countries would continue to expand and deepen in the future, benefiting both nations.
