New York: Pakistan has reiterated its commitment to promoting an inclusive, people-centered, and development-oriented approach to artificial intelligence (AI) during a United Nations briefing. The country’s Permanent Representative to the UN, Asim Iftikhar Ahmad, highlighted the importance of equitable access to AI resources for developing nations.
According to Radio Pakistan, Ambassador Ahmad addressed the 2026 World Artificial Intelligence Conference (WAIC) and the High-Level Meeting on Global AI Governance, emphasizing the need for developing countries to have fair access to data, computing capacity, AI models, tools, and technical expertise. This, he noted, is essential for meaningful participation in the global AI economy.
Ahmad further reaffirmed Pakistan’s support for inclusive multilateral cooperation. He stated that Pakistan is committed to working with China and other international partners to ensure that AI contributes to shared prosperity and sustainable development for all.
