Islamabad, 12 Oct 2023:The third meeting of the Arbitration Law Review Committee was held at the Supreme Court of Pakistan, Islamabad, led by Hon’ble Mr. Justice Syed Mansoor Ali Shah, Judge Supreme Court of Pakistan and Chairman of the Committee. Participants included renowned legal professionals and advocates, Mr. Muhammad Makhdoom Ali Khan, Mr. Feisal Hussain Naqvi, Barrister Mian Sami Uddin, as well as other stakeholders from various law and justice sectors.
Mr. Feisal Hussain Naqvi briefed participants on the proposed arbitration legislation, rooted in the UNCITRAL Model Law and applicable to both domestic and international arbitration. The envisioned law aims to facilitate the expedited and efficient resolution of arbitration-related disputes and is set to supplant the Arbitration Act of 1940, aligning with modern law and global best practices.
