Islamabad, 12 Oct 2023:Speakers at a roundtable organized by the India Study Centre (ISC) at the Institute of Strategic Studies Islamabad (ISSI) expressed appreciation for the Organization of Islamic Cooperation’s (OIC) consistent support for the Kashmir cause. According to a press release provided by Kashmir Media Service (KMS), participants in the event included a mix of ambassadors, leaders, academics, and students, who underscored the OIC’s persistent advocacy for the people of Jammu and Kashmir.

The Special Envoy of the OIC Secretary General for Jammu and Kashmir, Ambassador Yousef Aldobeay, underscored the pressing need to amplify awareness regarding the Jammu and Kashmir dispute, reaffirming the OIC’s ongoing support for the Kashmir cause. Participants discussed various dimensions of the Jammu and Kashmir dispute and called on the OIC to highlight to the global community the need to alleviate the suffering of the people in IIOJK. Recommendations were presented on advancing the Kashmir cause in the political, diplomatic, and legal arenas, and an emphasis was placed on proactive pursuit of the United Nations for realizing the Kashmiris’ right to self-determination.
