Sindh Chief Minister Orders Acceleration of Major Infrastructure Projects in Karachi

KARACHI: Sindh Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah has directed the rapid completion of major infrastructure projects in Karachi, including the Karachi Bus Rapid Transit (KBRT) Red Line corridor and Shahrah-e-Bhutto, after an early-morning inspection. He emphasized quality and transparency while ordering that mixed-traffic lanes along the Red Line be finished within two months and Shahrah-e-Bhutto be opened before Eid.

According to Chief Minister Sindh, the inspection included stops at key project sites such as the Pahalwan Goth Road, Munawar Chowrangi underpass, Mosamiyat Flyover, and Shahrah-e-Bhutto. The chief minister, accompanied by key government officials, stressed the importance of these projects for improving Karachi’s traffic flow and infrastructure reliability.

CM Shah reiterated the significance of the Red Line and Shahrah-e-Bhutto as critical corridors for the city. He was briefed on the ongoing work to repair and widen lanes, improve drainage, and ensure continuous progress on the projects. The chief minister instructed that work continue in multiple shifts to meet deadlines.

Concerns over incomplete work on the Mosamiyat Flyover led to directives for immediate resumption, with assurances of necessary resources. The chief minister also reviewed the near-complete Shahrah-e-Bhutto project, which aims to ease traffic and enhance connectivity between major highways.

Additional inspections included the under-construction Azeempura Flyover and progress on the Pahalwan Goth Road and Munawar Chowrangi Underpass projects. Throughout his visit, CM Shah underscored the need for high construction standards, effective traffic management, and timely project completion.
