IGP Islamabad Reviews Security Measures for Muharram-ul-Haram


Islamabad: Inspector General of Police (IGP) Islamabad Syed Ali Nasir Rizvi convened a meeting to review and enhance the security plan for Muharram-ul-Haram, focusing on ensuring public safety during the religious period.



According to Islamabad Capital Police, the meeting included discussions on security arrangements for Muharram processions and gatherings, with attendance from senior police officials such as the DIG Headquarters, DIG Islamabad, and DIG Security. IGP Rizvi emphasized the use of modern technology and effective inter-division coordination to maintain a peaceful environment.



IGP Rizvi reinforced that maintaining law and order during Muharram remains a top priority for Islamabad Police. Officers were instructed to implement heightened security measures at sensitive locations and procession routes, utilizing all resources at their disposal.



The meeting also included a review of strategies for traffic management, emergency response, and public facilitation, alongside ensuring coordination among various departments and agencies. All relevant units are to remain active and vigilant throughout Muharram-ul-Haram for the safety and convenience of citizens.



IGP Rizvi directed officers to be present in the field to monitor security arrangements and respond promptly to any emergencies, aiming to maintain peace and order during the religious observance.
