PM Sharif Affirms Pakistan’s Role in Global Peace Efforts

Islamabad: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has reaffirmed Pakistan’s commitment to facilitating the peaceful resolution of global issues, following the successful conclusion of the First High-Level Committee Meeting under the Islamabad Memorandum of Understanding in Bürgenstock, Switzerland. The discussions reportedly advanced positively, setting a roadmap toward a final agreement within 60 days.

According to Radio Pakistan, the meeting, attended by representatives from the United States and Iran, resulted in the establishment of a High-Level Committee to ensure political oversight and the initiation of further technical discussions. Prime Minister Sharif acknowledged the leadership of both the United States and Iran for their dedication to constructive dialogue and expressed gratitude to Qatar for its pivotal role in fostering the necessary conditions for the negotiations.

The Prime Minister also extended thanks to the Swiss Government for hosting the talks and paid tribute to Field Marshal Asim Munir for his significant contributions to the success of the discussions. Additional acknowledgments were directed toward Deputy Prime Minister Ishaq Dar and Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi for their diplomatic and logistical efforts throughout the process.

In his statement, Prime Minister Sharif reiterated Pakistan’s resolve to continue its active role in promoting dialogue and diplomacy as a means to achieve peaceful and lasting solutions to global challenges.
