KARACHI: Sindh Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah has extended an invitation to Indonesian businesses to explore investment opportunities in the province’s burgeoning economy, focusing on key projects like the development of Keti Bandar Port and AI-enabled data infrastructure. Simultaneously, he condemned the murder of Dr. Akash Kumar, vowing to take firm action against terrorism and address the wheat crisis through strict measures against hoarding.
According to Chief Minister Sindh, the invitation was made during the Indonesian-Pakistan Investment & Business Forum, where Mr. Shah emphasized the potential for foreign investment in sectors such as infrastructure, renewable energy, and information technology. The event, organized with the assistance of the Indonesian Consul General and the Federation of Pakistan Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FPCCI), aimed to strengthen economic ties between the two nations.
While highlighting investment prospects, Mr. Shah also addressed pressing security issues, including the murder of Dr. Kumar and the overall threat of terrorism in the region. He assured that law enforcement agencies were actively pursuing those responsible and emphasized the government’s commitment to maintaining public safety.
In addition, the Chief Minister discussed the ongoing wheat crisis, identifying it as a nationwide issue. He announced measures to combat hoarding and ensure fair compensation for farmers, while also suggesting the deregulation of wheat pricing to stabilize the market. These efforts, he noted, are part of a broader strategy to create a business-friendly environment in Sindh, promoting economic growth and stability.
