Lahore: Probationary Assistant Superintendents of Police (ASPs) from the 52nd Common Training Program held a meeting with Inspector General of Police Punjab Abdul Kareem at the Central Police Office, focusing on the implementation of modern technology and community-oriented policing under the “Safe Punjab Vision” initiative.
According to Punjab Police, the delegation, consisting of 14 probationary ASPs from various provinces, discussed the integration of IT-based applications and advanced technology in policing efforts. IG Punjab Abdul Kareem emphasized the importance of on-ground policing, force welfare, and professional development in ensuring effective public service delivery. The meeting underscored the zero-tolerance policy against violence and harassment and highlighted the deployment of an Artificial Intelligence-enabled Safe City system across the province.
IG Punjab directed the officers to prioritize public issue resolution within legal boundaries and encouraged a focus on community policing and engagement. The probationary officers were informed about the significance of field training, which includes assignments in district police and other branches, to enhance their professional skills. The officers have been assigned to various districts for six months of field training, where they will gain experience in operations, investigation, traffic management, and crime control. Senior officers, including Additional IG Training Asim Gulzar and Additional IG Operations Punjab Muhammad Ali Nekokara, attended the meeting.
