Karachi, Caretaker Sindh Chief Minister Justice Maqbool Baqar has announced a significant step towards international cooperation between the Ombudsman of Sindh and the Chief Ombudsman of Thailand. An MOU was signed to enhance collaboration in complaint handling, good governance, capacity building, and Ombudsman-ship.
According to Sindh Chief Minister House, the meeting and MOU signing, held at the CM House, were attended by the Chief Ombudsman of Thailand/President of IOI Asia Region, President of Rayong Province Red Cross Chapter Mrs. Nipa Suwansujrait, Deputy Thailand Consul General Mrs. Siriporn Tantipanyathepo, Provincial Ombudsman Sindh Aijaz Ali Khan, and other dignitaries. This event marked the first-ever visit of the Thai Chief Ombudsman to Sindh.
The MOU signifies a visionary step towards fostering international cooperation in public complaints handling and Ombudsman-ship. The visit of the Thai delegation, including Mr. Ajaz Ali, Provincial Ombudsman Sindh, and Mrs. Nipa President Rayong Province Red Cross Chapter, to Sindh at the invitation of Mr. Aijaz Ali Khan, reflects a commitment to strengthening ties between the two regions.
The ceremonial MOU signing, witnessed by Sindh Minister Justice (R) Maqbool Baqar, underscores the mutual goal of both Ombudsman offices to collaborate effectively. The Chief Minister expressed his confidence that this partnership and the exchange of experiences would significantly contribute to making the Ombudsman offices exemplary in addressing public grievances.
The Sindh Chief Minister presented traditional Sindhi caps and Ajrak to the distinguished guests as a symbol of shared cultural values and mutual respect.
