Islamabad: Inspector General of Police (IGP) Islamabad Syed Ali Nasir Rizvi convened a series of high-level meetings at the Central Police Office in Islamabad to assess the current security situation and citizen facilitation measures. According to Islamabad Capital Police, the meetings included key police officials such as DIG Islamabad Muhammad Jawad Tariq, DIG Headquarters Malik Jameel Zafar, as well as AIGs, SSPs, and SPs.
Throughout these discussions, a comprehensive review was conducted focusing on crime control, security conditions, and the services provided to citizens. The IGP emphasized the need for improving public service delivery to be more effective, transparent, and citizen-friendly. Specific directives were issued to enhance service standards at police stations, ensure swift resolution of citizen complaints, and uphold merit and the rule of law.
Efforts to strengthen coordination, utilize resources efficiently, and improve overall police performance were underscored, with the aim of delivering timely and quality services to the public. The IGP also instructed the use of modern technology, better crime data analysis, and the activation of the patrolling system to boost crime prevention.
Further directives included accelerating the improvement of citizen facilitation measures, particularly front desk services, helplines, and community policing initiatives. Police welfare measures were also highlighted as a priority to enhance the professional performance of police officers and personnel.
IGP Rizvi also met with DIG Law and Order/Training Muhammad Ateeq Tahir and newly appointed DIG Security Rana Umar Farooq, assigning them new objectives related to modern training, security enhancement, and administrative improvements. The meeting concluded with a reaffirmed commitment from the Islamabad Police to utilize all capabilities to combat crime, protect citizens, and provide exemplary public services, aiming for a secure and law-abiding society.
