Chief Information Commissioner Meets Chairman Senate to Strengthen Institutional Coordination


ISLAMABAD: The Chairman Senate, Syed Yousaf Raza Gilani, met with Chief Information Commissioner Shoaib Ahmed Siddiqui and a member of the Pakistan Information Commission at Parliament House today. The meeting was aimed at bolstering institutional coordination and was marked by discussions on enhancing transparency and governance.



According to Senate of Pakistan, the Chairman Senate emphasized the significance of the Pakistan Information Commission’s three-year milestone, which showcases its growing institutional capacity and improved service delivery. The Chairman noted the importance of public awareness regarding the right of access to information, viewing transparency as a fundamental governance principle that fosters public trust and strengthens institutions.



The Chairman Senate praised the Commission for its role in implementing access to information laws, addressing public grievances, and promoting proactive disclosure by public bodies. He also stressed the need for maintaining institutional balance and adhering to constitutional and legal frameworks to advance transparency objectives.



Concluding the meeting, the Chief Information Commissioner presented the Commission’s bi-annual report to the Chairman Senate and conveyed his good wishes, highlighting the ongoing commitment to enhancing governance standards through effective transparency mechanisms.
