Islamabad Police Arrests 40 Suspects, Seizes Drugs and Weapons


ISLAMABAD: Islamabad Police have arrested 40 individuals allegedly involved in criminal activities, recovering a significant amount of drugs and weapons in a recent operation. The arrests, made by several police teams, are part of an ongoing effort to maintain peace in the federal capital.



According to Islamabad Capital Police, law enforcement teams from Aabpara, Sumbal, Sangjani, Industrial Area, Khana, Koral, Sihala, Humak, and Nilore apprehended 14 suspects connected to various criminal activities. The operation led to the seizure of 1,697 grams of Ice, 1,260 grams of heroin, 245 grams of hashish, 60 bottles of liquor, and six pistols with ammunition. Charges have been filed against the suspects, and investigations are underway.



In a parallel initiative targeting proclaimed offenders and absconders, police teams arrested an additional 26 individuals. The crackdown follows directives from IGP Islamabad Syed Ali Nasir Rizvi, emphasizing a robust approach to tackling crime and protecting citizens’ peace and security.



SSP Operations Islamabad Qazi Ali Raza reiterated the police force’s commitment to safeguarding the lives and property of residents, stressing that disturbing public peace will not be tolerated. The police continue to encourage citizens to report suspicious activities promptly to facilitate a collaborative effort in combating crime.
