Senator Mushahid Hussain Syed Advocates Against Neocolonialism in Moscow Visit


Islamabad, Senator Mushahid Hussain Syed recently concluded a significant visit to Moscow, where he was invited by the United Russia Party to participate in a forum against modern neocolonialism practices.



According to Senate of Pakistan, Senator Syed engaged in various dialogues during his visit, including a panel discussion at the forum and a private meeting with Mr. Dmitry Medvedev, Deputy Chairman of the Security Council of Russia and Chairman of the Global Forum Against NeoColonialism. This meeting was a notable highlight, as Mr. Medvedev is also a former President of the Russian Federation.



In addition to his forum participation, Senator Syed delivered a lecture at the Russian Diplomatic Academy, where he addressed the shifting regional dynamics and the strengthening ties between Pakistan and Russia. His talk emphasized areas of mutual interest such as energy, connectivity, regional security, and multilateral cooperation, including the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) and the United Nations. He also lauded President Putin’s approach to Islamophobia.



The session concluded with a robust Q and A with the diplomatic academy’s students and was attended by Russian Federation Council Senator Chizhov. Senator Syed’s subsequent discussions with the Diplomatic Academy’s Rector on global politics and bilateral cooperation were deemed constructive, reflecting shared perspectives on several mutual interests.



Senator Syed’s visit, marked by high-level exchanges and advocacy against neocolonialism, underscored the deepening relationship between Pakistan and Russia and was a testament to the countries’ collaborative efforts towards geopolitical stability and development.
