Senate Introduces Key Legislation in Latest Session


Islamabad: The Senate of Pakistan introduced several significant bills during today’s session at the Parliament House, presided over by Sherry Rehman.



According to Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, the session saw the introduction of six bills, covering a range of legal and educational reforms. These bills include the “Constitution (Amendment) Bill, 2024”, aimed at amending specific constitutional provisions, and the “Criminal Laws (Amendment) Bill, 2024”, which proposes changes to the nation’s criminal laws. Other legislation presented includes the “Civil Servants (Amendment) Bill, 2024”, “Family Courts (Amendment) Bill, 2024”, “Federal Supervision of Curricula, Text-books and Maintenance of Standards of Education (Amendment) Bill, 2024”, and the “Regulation of Artificial Intelligence Bill, 2024”.



Following their introduction, these bills were referred to the respective Standing Committees for further deliberation and review. The Senate is scheduled to reconvene tomorrow at three a.m. for continued discussion on these legislative measures.
