Punjab Police Allocates Over Rs.1.5 Billion for Personnel Welfare Initiatives


LAHORE: Punjab Police has allocated more than Rs.1.5295 billion this year towards the welfare of its personnel and their families, emphasizing the importance of supporting police employees through various financial measures.



According to Directorate General Public Relation – Govt of Punjab, the funds have been distributed across several key areas. Educational scholarships for the children of police personnel accounted for more than Rs.432.7 million. Wedding gifts for the daughters of police employees were provided with a fund of more than Rs.428.5 million. In addition, over Rs.247.2 million was allocated for medical treatment and healthcare facilities for police personnel and their families, with more than Rs.233 million disbursed as retirement grants.



A spokesperson from Punjab Police detailed further allocations, stating that more than Rs.129.8 million was distributed as maintenance allowance to the families of police employees. Funeral expenses for police personnel’s families were covered with over Rs.47.3 million, while immediate financial assistance to the police force amounted to more than Rs.10.7 million.



IG Punjab Abdul Kareem affirmed the continuation of efforts to address the challenges faced by police employees and their families through the Police Welfare Fund and other resources.
