SAPM Mushaal Hussein Mullick Advocates for Women’s Empowerment at Sustainable Development Conference

ISLAMABAD, Mushaal Hussein Mullick, Special Assistant to the Prime Minister (SAPM) on Human Rights and Women Empowerment, emphasized the critical importance of women’s empowerment in achieving sustainable development and progress during the 26th Sustainable Development Conference (SDC) hosted by the Sustainable Development Policy Institute (SDPI).

According to the Press Information Department, speaking at the conference titled “Light at the End of the Tunnel: Hope in Time of Despair,” Mullick highlighted that true progress cannot be realized without empowering half of the global population. She expressed optimism that the conference would be a platform for collaboration, innovation, and partnership, shaping the trajectory of sustainable development.

Mullick underscored the pivotal moment in history where decisions made will shape the future, stressing the interconnection between sustainable development and women’s rights. She insisted that women are not just beneficiaries but catalysts for change in the pursuit of sustainable development. Emphasizing the necessity of women’s empowerment, she argued that partnerships across borders, ideologies, and sectors are essential for driving sustainable development.

The SAPM advocated for women’s rights, emphasizing the need for equal voice, opportunities, and representation for women. She highlighted the importance of dismantling barriers that have hindered women’s progress and recognized education and empowerment of women as investments in sustainable community and national development.

Mullick called for action-oriented collaboration that educates girls, provides economic opportunities for women, and challenges gender inequality norms. She stressed that the path to sustainable development and gender equality requires a collective effort and a commitment to partnerships that uplift both women and humanity.
