ISLAMABAD: Ambassador of Romania to Pakistan, Dr. Dan Stoenescu, met with Speaker of the National Assembly Sardar Ayaz Sadiq at the Parliament House in Islamabad. During their meeting, the Ambassador praised Pakistan’s contribution to the successful signing of the Islamabad Memorandum of Understanding, highlighting the country’s role as a mediator between the United States and Iran.

According to National Assembly of Pakistan, Dr. Stoenescu acknowledged the joint efforts of Pakistan’s political and military leadership in achieving the diplomatic milestone. He described the Islamabad MOU as a significant development that has helped end hostilities and foster peace. Speaker Sardar Ayaz Sadiq emphasized Pakistan’s dedication to dialogue and diplomacy, crediting the achievement to the efforts of Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif and other key leaders.

The Speaker referred to the Islamabad MOU as a landmark in diplomatic relations, aiding de-escalation in the region and enhancing Pakistan’s international reputation. Dr. Stoenescu lauded Pakistan’s role in promoting global stability and cooperation, noting its growing credibility in conflict resolution.

The meeting also explored ways to strengthen ties between Pakistan and Romania, focusing on politics, economy, culture, education, and parliamentary collaboration. Both parties affirmed their commitment to deepening bilateral relations.

As a gesture of goodwill, Dr. Stoenescu presented a bilingual version of Pakistan’s national anthem to Speaker Sadiq, symbolizing cultural harmony and mutual respect between the two nations.
