Road Accident in Punjab, India, Claims Lives of Four Policemen


Hoshiarpur, In a tragic road accident in Punjab, India, four policemen, including an Assistant Sub-inspector and a senior constable, were killed, and 13 others injured. The incident occurred in the Mukerian area of the state, involving a bus carrying Punjab Police personnel.



According to Kashmir Media Service, the accident took place as the Punjab Police bus, transporting 30 policemen, was en route from the Punjab Armed Police institution in Jalandhar to Gurdaspur. The crash happened in Mukerian, approximately 54 kilometers from Hoshiarpur.



Hoshiarpur Senior Superintendent of Police Surendra Lamba, who visited the site of the accident, confirmed the identities of the deceased. Among the victims were Assistant Sub-inspector Hardev Singh, senior constable Gurpreet Singh, who was driving the bus, and woman constable Shalu Rana.



The incident has cast a shadow over the Punjab Police force, highlighting the concerns of road safety for law enforcement personnel in the state. The cause of the accident is yet to be determined, and further investigations are likely to follow in the wake of this tragic event.
