Punjab Province Deports Over 6,000 Afghans in Compliance with International Law

Lahore: In a significant move, Punjab province has deported 6,132 Afghan nationals who were residing illegally, as announced by Inspector General of Punjab Police, Dr. Usman Anwar. In addition, 8,227 individuals have been relocated to holding centers.

Dr. Anwar stated that 46 holding centers have been established across Punjab to facilitate the deportation process. He emphasized that Pakistan is adhering to international legal standards in its deportation policy.

Authorities in Punjab have collected data on approximately 89,000 illegal residents. The federal government and intelligence agencies are actively monitoring the deportation process to ensure compliance with international norms.
