Punjab Police Reaffirms Commitment to Protecting Minority Communities in Meeting with Christian Delegation

Lahore, A Christian delegation led by former Federal Minister for Minority Affairs Dr. Paul Bhatti recently visited the Central Police Office in Lahore, where they met with Inspector General of Punjab Police, Dr. Usman Anwar. The delegation’s visit focused on discussing the ongoing measures implemented by the Punjab Police for the protection of minority communities, particularly Christians.

According to Punjab Police, the delegation included notable figures such as Nadeem Daniel, Jararad Bhatti, Kamran Ejaz, and Azeem Bhatti.

During the meeting, IG Punjab Dr. Usman Anwar detailed the various initiatives undertaken for the safety and convenience of minority citizens. He emphasized that the protection of lives, properties, and religious places of Christian citizens is a top priority for the Punjab Police. One key initiative highlighted was the establishment of Meesaq Centers across all districts in the province, aimed at providing swift and efficient police services to minority citizens. Anwar also informed the delegation about the comprehensive security arrangements made for churches, particularly in Lahore, every Sunday.

The Christian delegation was given a tour of the Central Police Office, including the martyr and Ghazi walls and other departments. The visit concluded with a tour of the Meesaq Center Liberty, where the delegation observed service delivery and operations. Dr. Paul Bhatti commended the Punjab Police for their efforts in safeguarding the Christian community and noted the positive impact of projects like the Meesaq Centers on minority citizens across the province.
