Islamabad: Deputy Prime Minister Ishaq Dar affirmed the government’s commitment to safeguarding critical energy infrastructure to ensure an uninterrupted fuel supply nationwide. This was stated during a meeting of the Committee on Security Assessment of Oil Refineries and Oil Storage Facilities.
According to Radio Pakistan, the meeting in Islamabad reviewed the security arrangements at oil refineries and storage installations across the country. Ishaq Dar expressed satisfaction with the current security measures and emphasized the necessity of maintaining strong security protocols to protect vital energy assets.
The meeting was briefed on measures being undertaken in collaboration with all stakeholders, including refineries and oil marketing companies, to enhance the security of these strategic facilities. It was also noted that the cost of additional security measures will be borne by the oil marketing companies.
