Lahore: Punjab Police’s ongoing crackdown on proclaimed offenders, court absconders, and habitual criminals has resulted in the arrest of more than 58,000 individuals across the province this year. According to Punjab Police, the operation has led to the capture of 58,964 proclaimed offenders, including those categorized under Category A and B, with 16,294 and 42,670 arrests respectively.
The police operation has also successfully apprehended 20,921 court absconders, comprising 3,017 from Category A and 17,904 from Category B. Additionally, 11,606 habitual criminals have been detained, with 4,597 falling under Category A and 7,009 under Category B. A notable achievement has been the arrest of 37 dangerous proclaimed offenders previously residing abroad.
In Lahore, the crackdown led to the arrest of 11,315 proclaimed offenders, 6,758 court absconders, and 2,782 habitual criminals. Inspector General of Police Punjab Abdul Kareem has voiced his appreciation for the police teams involved and called for continued efforts to intensify actions against criminal elements in the region.
