Lahore: In a continuing effort to enhance the welfare of its employees, the Punjab Police has successfully facilitated cochlear implant surgeries for two more hearing-impaired daughters of police personnel. This initiative, spearheaded by Inspector General of Police Punjab, Dr. Usman Anwar, seeks to provide life-changing medical interventions to children of police employees.
On directives from the IG Punjab, AIG Welfare Abdul Rahim Shirazi visited the private hospital where Aliza Imran and Horain Zainab underwent their surgeries. The daughters of police officers Muhammad Imran and Rawal Mumtaz are now in recovery and are expected to gain the ability to hear, significantly improving their quality of life.
This initiative is part of a broader program by the Punjab Police to support hearing-impaired children of its workforce. The program involves collaboration with both government and private hospitals to conduct these surgeries. To date, 33 children have benefited from this program, with a total expenditure of Rs 5 crore 84 lakh and 40 thousand.
Dr. Usman Anwar emphasized the department’s commitment to enhancing healthcare resources for police employees and their families, underscoring the importance of such initiatives in improving the welfare of the force’s community.
