Islamabad: The Privatisation Commission of Pakistan and the Asian Development Bank have entered into a Transaction Advisory Services Agreement to outsource Islamabad International Airport. Under this agreement, the ADB will act as the Financial Advisor, working towards the airport’s privatization. The agreement was formalized by Emma Fan, the Country Director of ADB’s Pakistan Resident Mission, and Shahid Dayo, the Director General of the Privatisation Commission.
According to Privatisation Commission, the signing ceremony was attended by several key figures, including Muhammad Ali, Adviser to the Prime Minister on Privatisation and Chairman of the Privatisation Commission, and senior officials from both organizations. The agreement outlines that the ADB will offer comprehensive advisory services, covering technical, financial, legal, environmental, and commercial aspects to ensure the transaction aligns with international standards.
The initiative aims to facilitate a transparent and competitive process to attract global airport operators and investors. The agreement represents a significant step in the Pakistani Government’s broader privatisation program, aiming to enhance the efficiency and service quality of Islamabad International Airport while ensuring transparency and value for the citizens.
