ISLAMABAD: UN Under-Secretary-General for Humanitarian Affairs and Emergency Relief Coordinator Tom Fletcher met with Deputy Prime Minister Ishaq Dar on Thursday, where Dar expressed his appreciation for the Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs’ (OCHA) global humanitarian efforts. He highlighted the organization’s crucial role in providing assistance during disasters and conflicts worldwide.
According to Radio Pakistan, Ishaq Dar acknowledged OCHA’s work during climate-induced disasters in Pakistan. He reiterated Pakistan’s commitment to supporting OCHA’s initiatives, particularly in addressing the humanitarian situation in the Occupied Palestinian Territory.
During the meeting, Tom Fletcher praised Pakistan’s continuous efforts towards regional peace and stability and recognized the country’s contributions to the United Nations over the years.
