Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif Emphasizes Need for Enhanced Regional Cooperation

ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has called for a renewed focus on regional cooperation to boost connectivity and sustainable development across South Asia. Meeting with the Secretary General of the South Asian Association for Regional Cooperation (SAARC), Ambassador Md. Golam Sarwar, who was on a farewell visit, Sharif highlighted the potential for shared prosperity through collective efforts.

According to Radio Pakistan, the Prime Minister reiterated Pakistan’s strong commitment to the SAARC Charter, reflecting the nation’s dedication to the organization’s principles and goals. He commended Ambassador Sarwar for his leadership and efforts in promoting regional cooperation during his tenure. Furthermore, Shehbaz Sharif wished the outgoing Secretary General success in his future pursuits.

Ambassador Sarwar expressed gratitude for Pakistan’s support during his time as the head of SAARC, acknowledging the collaborative spirit fostered under Sharif’s leadership.
