Prime Minister Sharif and President Pezeshkian Discuss Regional Peace Efforts in 50-Minute Call


Islamabad: Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif engaged in a fifty-minute telephone conversation with Dr. Masoud Pezeshkian, President of the Islamic Republic of Iran, focusing on regional stability and peace initiatives. The dialogue underscored the importance of ongoing diplomatic efforts and collaboration between the two nations.



According to Press Information Department, the Prime Minister expressed gratitude for the participation of an Iranian delegation in recent talks held in Islamabad. He emphasized the significance of Iran’s continued diplomatic engagement, including a visit led by Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi, which included a two-hour meeting with the Prime Minister.



During the call, Prime Minister Sharif shared insights from his recent diplomatic interactions with world leaders, highlighting their role in fostering consensus for sustained dialogue aimed at peace in the region. He also acknowledged the productive discussions between the Iranian leadership and Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir in Tehran.



President Pezeshkian conveyed appreciation for Pakistan’s contributions to peace efforts, recognizing the roles of the Prime Minister, Field Marshal Munir, and Deputy Prime Minister Ishaq Dar. He reiterated Iran’s commitment to peace and expressed optimism about strengthening ties with Pakistan.



The leaders concluded their conversation with a mutual agreement to maintain close coordination in their efforts for regional stability.
