Yangzhou: Pakistan’s envoy to China, Ambassador Khalil Hashmi, recently visited Yangzhou city in Jiangsu province from April 23-24, 2026, to strengthen investment, trade, and vocational training cooperation between Pakistan and China across sectors such as agriculture, new energy, and new technologies.

According to Press Information Department, Ambassador Hashmi met with Party Secretary Wang Jinjian and Mayor Zheng Haitao, and visited FAMSUN, a prominent Yangzhou-based agriculture technology company. During the visit, he engaged with leading agriculture enterprises at a forum organized by FAMSUN and discussed proposals to expand B2B investment and trade ties. The discussions focused on leveraging the Punjab-Jiangsu sister province cooperation mechanism and organizing B2B investment mobilization roadshows.

The visit underscored the mutual agreement to capitalize on Yangzhou’s strengths in new technologies, agriculture modernization, and other industries. Ambassador Hashmi extended invitations to Yangzhou-based companies to attend the upcoming B2B Investment Conference on IT and Telecommunication in Hangzhou and expressed interest in co-organizing investment roadshows.

At FAMSUN, the delegation was received by President Chen Zhengjun, who showcased the company’s Smart Park. Ambassador Hashmi commended FAMSUN’s involvement in Pakistan and encouraged further collaboration in agricultural modernization and capacity building.

Ambassador Hashmi also participated in the China-Pakistan Agricultural Modernization and Food Security Innovation Cooperation Forum. He emphasized Pakistan’s focus on transforming its agriculture sector through mechanization and invited Chinese enterprises to explore business opportunities in precision agriculture and digital farming solutions. The forum included presentations by senior representatives from companies like Irritech, Zoomlion, and FAMSUN, followed by an interactive session to explore further opportunities for partnership.
