Prime Minister Orders Comprehensive Review to Enhance Pakistan Bait-ul-Mal Operations


Islamabad: The Prime Minister of Pakistan, Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif, has directed a high-level government delegation to conduct a thorough review of Pakistan Bait-ul-Mal’s operations. The objective is to identify and address the challenges faced by the organization in delivering welfare services.



According to Press Information Department, the government team, including prominent officials such as Federal Minister for Public Affairs Rana Mubashir Iqbal, State Minister for Power and Public Affairs Abdur Rehman Kanju, Special Assistant to the Prime Minister Talha Burki, and Additional Secretary of the Prime Minister’s Office Mohib Ali Phulpoto, visited the PBM headquarters. There, they engaged in discussions with Managing Director Senator Capt. Shaheen Khalid Butt and senior management to assess the organization’s operational framework, achievements, and challenges.



The discussions focused on both immediate operational constraints and the broader institutional landscape of PBM. The team examined strengths and weaknesses in existing systems, identified neglected and under-resourced areas, and explored emerging requirements and possible solutions. The PBM management provided detailed briefings on challenges related to human resources, budgetary constraints, administrative matters, and operational capacity. They also highlighted recent reforms aimed at improving transparency, accountability, and efficiency.



The meeting concluded with a focus on sustainable measures to strengthen PBM’s institutional structure and operational capacity. The team emphasized the importance of efficient resource utilization and responsiveness to the needs of vulnerable citizens. They expressed appreciation for the reform-oriented measures taken by the PBM leadership and assured full cooperation in resolving identified issues.



The review aligns with the government’s broader initiative to enhance public institutions and improve social protection services delivery across the country.
