Islamabad: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has given in-principle approval to refine the operations of the Public-Private Partnership Authority, aiming to accelerate development projects through enhanced collaboration between public and private sectors.
According to Radio Pakistan, during a meeting held in Islamabad, it was decided that the Public-Private Partnership Authority will now operate under the Privatization Division. This move is intended to align the Authority’s performance with contemporary standards and expedite projects managed under the Public-Private Partnership framework. The Prime Minister emphasized the need to bolster the capabilities of the ministries and departments involved, to effectively initiate and manage development initiatives.
Furthermore, the Prime Minister directed that projects executed through the Public-Private Partnership model be integrated into the Key Performance Indicators for evaluating the performance of relevant ministries and departments. Efforts are underway to ensure that these partnerships are both transparent and efficient, as stated by the Prime Minister. The meeting also included a briefing on the comparative analysis of different Public-Private Partnership models implemented across various countries, both regionally and globally.
