Srinagar, 11 Oct 2023:Posters expressing solidarity with Palestine and critiquing India’s actions in Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir have surfaced in Srinagar and other regions, according to Kashmir Media Service. Statements on the posters draw parallels between the situations in Palestine and Kashmir, suggesting that India is replicating Israel’s model of repression in its territories.
Appealing to the global community, the posters emphasize the importance of resolving the Kashmir and Palestine disputes and articulate support for both Palestinian and Kashmiri resistance against settler colonialism. The posters were disseminated by pro-freedom organizations including Jammu and Kashmir Democratic Movement, Jammu and Kashmir Political Resistance Movement, Resistance Youth Forum J and K, and Students and Youth Forum, and have also been shared on social media platforms.
