PCB Chairman Expresses Confidence in Team’s World Cup Prospects


London, At a reception held at Pakistan House, the Pakistan Men’s Cricket Team and its management were celebrated in anticipation of their upcoming tours, with dignitaries expressing strong support and high hopes for the team’s success. The event was marked by enthusiastic speeches from both the Chairman of the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB), Mohsin Naqvi, and the Mayor of London, Sadiq Khan.



According to Press Information Department, the reception was hosted by Pakistan’s High Commissioner in the UK, Dr. Mohammad Faisal, and featured prominent guests including the Minister for Interior and Chairman PCB, Syed Mohsin Raza Naqvi, who was the chief guest. Notable attendees included Mayor Sadiq Khan, Chief Minister of Balochistan Sarfraz Ahmed Bugti, former Caretaker Prime Minister Anwaar-ul-Haq Kakar, and UK’s High Commissioner to Pakistan, Jane Marriott, along with Pakistani cricket legends and a large segment of the Pakistani Diaspora in London.



Chairman Naqvi voiced his confidence in the team’s hard work and dedication, expressing hope that their efforts would bring the World Cup to Pakistan. He encouraged Pakistani fans to continue their support, especially during the team’s upcoming tour to the USA, and highlighted the independence of team management in decision-making as a key factor for achieving good performance.



Mayor Khan shared his enthusiasm for hosting the Pakistani team in London, declaring Babar Azam as his favorite batsman and expressing optimism for victories under Babar’s captaincy. High Commissioner Dr. Faisal remarked on the unity brought about by the team’s presence in the UK among cricket-loving communities and extended his best wishes for their future matches.



The event concluded with gratitude expressed by the Pakistan Cricket team players and management towards the High Commission and the Pakistani Diaspora for their overwhelming support and warm welcome.
