Pakistan’s Deputy Prime Minister to Address UN Security Council Debate in New York

New York: Pakistan’s Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister, Senator Mohammad Ishaq Dar, is set to participate in a United Nations Security Council open debate in New York from May 26 to 28, 2026. The debate, focusing on maintaining international peace and security, is organized under China’s rotating presidency and will be chaired by China’s Foreign Minister Wang Yi.

According to Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Pakistan supports China’s initiative, emphasizing the importance of multilateralism and the UN’s central role in tackling global issues. On May 28, Senator Dar will join the Group of Friends on Global Governance meeting, aimed at reforming global governance and addressing worldwide challenges. He will also engage in bilateral meetings with international counterparts and senior UN officials during his visit.

Pakistan continues to advocate for multilateralism and is committed to contributing constructively to global peace, security, and development efforts.
