Los Angeles, Pakistan’s Ambassador to the United States, Masood Khan, embarked on a significant visit to Los Angeles to encourage and promote business and investment opportunities between Pakistan and the United States. During his interactions with key U.S. business leaders, entrepreneurs, and the Pakistani-American community, Ambassador Khan emphasized Pakistan’s burgeoning potential as the next tech hub in the region and invited U.S. companies to increase their investments.
According to Embassy of Pakistan – Washington D.C, Ambassador Khan held discussions with the Los Angeles Area Chamber of Commerce and other business entities, stressing the strong existing presence of major American enterprises in Pakistan, including Fortune 500 companies like Pepsi, Coca-Cola, and General Electric. He noted the Pakistani market’s rewarding opportunities and highlighted the supportive role of the substantial Pakistani-American community in LA, which forms a vital bridge between the two nations.
Ambassador Khan also proposed a sister city partnership between Los Angeles and Karachi to foster deeper economic ties and invited the business leaders to explore firsthand the transformative changes in Pakistan. His agenda included fostering a trilateral partnership between the U.S., Gulf nations, and Pakistan to leverage the full economic benefits available in the region.
Throughout his visit, Ambassador Khan reiterated the importance of scaling up trade and investment ties and discussed ongoing cooperation in areas such as security, counter-terrorism, climate change, and renewable energy. He expressed confidence in the support from international financial institutions for Pakistan’s economic reforms, which he said the new government was committed to advancing.
The visit culminated with a gathering organized by Friends of Pakistan, where Ambassador Khan commended the unity and commitment of the Pakistani-American community towards fostering strong bilateral relations.
