Pakistani PM Anwaar-ul-Haq Kakar and Bill Gates Discuss Social Initiatives in Davos


Davos, Caretaker Prime Minister of Pakistan, Anwaar-ul-Haq Kakar, engaged in a significant meeting with Bill Gates, co-chair of the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation, on the sidelines of the 54th annual meeting of the World Economic Forum in Davos.



According to Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, the meeting between PM Kakar and Gates was centered around the ongoing collaborative efforts between the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation and Pakistan. PM Kakar expressed gratitude for the foundation’s critical support in various sectors including public health, social initiatives, and financial inclusion, particularly highlighting the assistance provided during the COVID-19 pandemic and the floods of 2022.



The discussions also delved into a range of social support initiatives currently underway in Pakistan. Both leaders emphasized the importance of strengthening these efforts and expanding their reach across the country. The conversation reflected a shared commitment to enhancing social welfare initiatives in Pakistan.



Additionally, PM Kakar outlined the Pakistani government’s efforts in combating poverty and malnutrition, showcasing the government’s dedication to addressing these critical issues.
