Davos, Emphasizing the critical need for equitable technology access, Caretaker Prime Minister Anwaar-ul-Haq Kakar called for global efforts to ensure all nations can benefit from scientific advancements in the 21st century. The Prime Minister made these remarks during the Trade Tech’s Trillion Dollar Promise meeting at the World Economic Forum in Davos.
According to Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, PM Kakar highlighted the disparities in technology access, particularly affecting impoverished nations. He pointed out the significant portion of the global population left behind in the wake of strategic competition in the technological arena. The Prime Minister underscored that such competition often eclipses the economic benefits and hinders further technological advancement.
Kakar expressed concern that the quest for dominance in technology stifles human creativity and inquisitiveness, thereby limiting the potential for growth and innovation in this field. He urged that the focus should be shifted from competition to collaboration and inclusive development.
The Prime Minister also called on the private sector to play a pivotal role in this endeavor. He advocated for the private sector to lead the way in sharing information about innovative technologies and support the broader dissemination of technological advancements.
This appeal from the Pakistani Prime Minister at a global platform like the World Economic Forum underscores the importance of technology in shaping the future and the necessity for inclusive strategies to bridge the digital divide.
