Dubai: As part of the Police Innovation and Leadership Diploma organized by Dubai Police in partnership with Rochester Institute of Technology, two senior officers from Pakistan’s National Police have praised the innovative policing model implemented by Dubai. Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Kamran Ali and Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Umar Farooq commended Dubai Police’s approach, highlighting its integration of artificial intelligence, proactive security measures, and community engagement.
The officers emphasized that Dubai’s policing model, encapsulated by the motto “Smart.Secure. Together,” serves as a global benchmark for modern law enforcement. They expressed their intention to apply these forward-thinking strategies within Pakistan’s complex security environment, aiming to replicate Dubai’s success in effective policing.
SSP Kamran Ali noted that Dubai Police’s use of technology not only enhances security but also fosters a more inclusive and connected police force. Meanwhile, SSP Umar Farooq described Dubai Police as a standard for comprehensive digital transformation in policing.
Both officers came to Dubai with a clear mission: to gain insights and implement impactful changes in Pakistan. They plan to utilize the operational tools and practical concepts learned in Dubai to build a smarter, more community-oriented police force back home.
The program’s technological focus impressed both officers. SSP Kamran Ali highlighted how Dubai’s use of AI, automation, and data integration can enhance community engagement. SSP Umar Farooq, with a background in electrical engineering, appreciated the program’s technical content, envisioning how technologies like AI and blockchain could revolutionize policing operations in Pakistan.
The officers believe that Dubai Police’s initiatives, such as the Positive Spirit campaign and Smart Police Stations, can be adapted for use in Pakistan, despite the country’s geographical challenges. They also acknowledged the importance of wellbeing in police work, emphasizing the need for physical and mental balance.
As they return to Pakistan, SSP Kamran Ali and SSP Umar Farooq carry a new perspective on policing, inspired by Dubai’s model. They are committed to pursuing smart policing, safe systems, and strong community ties as essential goals for law enforcement agencies worldwide.
