Pakistani First Lady Honors Women in Diplomacy on International Recognition Day


Islamabad: The First Lady of Pakistan, Asifa Bhutto Zardari, has paid tribute to women in diplomacy, acknowledging their role in promoting global understanding and cooperation. On the International Day of Women in Diplomacy, she highlighted the contributions of Pakistani women who have represented the nation with dignity and excellence, noting their impact on international partnerships and peace.



According to Press Information Department, the First Lady mentioned historical figures like Begum Ra’ana Liaquat Ali Khan and Begum Shaista Ikramullah, who were instrumental in establishing Pakistan’s diplomatic presence, as well as former Prime Minister Benazir Bhutto, whose leadership earned global recognition for Pakistan. She noted that current Pakistani women diplomats continue this legacy, serving as ambassadors and representatives in various international forums.



The First Lady expressed her appreciation for the professionalism and dedication of Pakistani women diplomats, who advance the country’s interests and contribute to global peace and cooperation. She emphasized that their achievements inspire young women across Pakistan to pursue careers in public service and international affairs, underscoring the importance of their role in the nation’s diplomatic efforts.
