Pakistani and Bangladeshi Universities Strengthen Educational Ties Through Expo Series

Islamabad: The Higher Education Commission (HEC) of Pakistan, in collaboration with 20 Pakistani universities, has successfully concluded a series of education expos across major Bangladeshi cities, marking a significant step in the Pakistan-Bangladesh Knowledge Corridor.

According to Higher Education Commission of Pakistan, this was the second series of exhibitions executed alongside the Pakistan High Commission in Bangladesh. The first series, held in late 2025, led to a notable increase in the enrollment of Bangladeshi students in Pakistani universities. The recent exhibitions took place in Dhaka, Barishal, Rajshahi, Sylhet, Chittagong, and Rangpur, providing a platform for Pakistani institutions to engage with students and highlight the opportunities available through the 500 fully-funded Allama Muhammad Iqbal Scholarships.

The expos attracted thousands of students, parents, and academics, highlighting academic programs, faculty collaborations, and joint research ventures available in Pakistan. Director General (Scholarships) HEC, Ms. Aayesha Ikram, emphasized the commitment to providing quality education to Bangladeshi students and noted the potential for institutional collaboration. Project Director of the Allama Muhammad Iqbal Scholarships Programme, Mr. Jehanzeb Khan, encouraged students to apply for scholarships.

Pakistani diplomats, including High Commissioner Imran Haider, participated in the events, expressing commitment to enhancing bilateral educational relations. They highlighted Pakistan’s growing expertise in fields like Artificial Intelligence and Medical Sciences. Bangladeshi academic leaders also supported the initiative, stressing the importance of sustained cooperation.

Following the expo series, the Pakistan High Commission in Dhaka hosted representatives to review the exhibitions’ outcomes and explore future collaborations. Mr. Imran Haider praised the active involvement of Pakistani universities and the support from Bangladeshi institutions. Under the Knowledge Corridor, Pakistan offers 500 fully funded scholarships for Bangladeshi students to pursue higher education at Pakistani universities.
