Pakistan Urges Global Action to Safeguard Education in Sudan


New York: Pakistan has issued a call for urgent international action to protect education in Sudan. This appeal was made by Syed Ansar Shah, First Secretary at Pakistan’s Permanent Mission to the United Nations, during an Arria-Formula meeting of the UN Security Council focused on safeguarding education in Sudan.



According to Radio Pakistan, Shah highlighted that the protection of children and the preservation of their access to education are vital for Sudan’s recovery, stability, and long-term peace. The Arria-Formula meeting provided a platform for countries to discuss and address the ongoing challenges faced by the educational sector in Sudan amid the current conflicts.



The call underscores the importance of global cooperation in ensuring that educational opportunities remain accessible to the youth in conflict-affected regions, emphasizing the role of education in fostering peace and stability.
