Pakistan-Turkiye Defense Dialogue Concludes with Commitments to Strengthen Ties

Islamabad, The 18th round of the Pakistan-Turkiye High Level Military Dialogue Group (HLMDG) meeting has successfully concluded in Rawalpindi, marking another milestone in the enduring defense cooperation between Pakistan and Turkiye.

According to Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, the Pakistani delegation was led by Secretary Defence, Lt Gen (Retd) Hamood uz Zaman Khan, while the Turkish delegation was headed by Deputy Chief of Turkish General Staff, General Irfan Ozsert. The dialogue, spanning from 13-16 February 2024, covered a broad spectrum of bilateral defense cooperation topics, reflecting the deep military ties between the two nations.

Both delegations expressed satisfaction with the current pace of defense cooperation and committed to elevating their partnership to greater heights. Key discussions included security, counter-terrorism efforts, and the regional as well as geopolitical climate affecting both countries.

Furthermore, it was mutually agreed that the 19th round of the Pakistan-Turkiye HLMDG Meeting would take place in Turkiye, with specific dates to be agreed upon in 2025.
