Pakistan Television Celebrates 59 Years of Broadcasting, Governor Sindh Highlights Its Cultural Impact

Karachi, In a recent event commemorating the 59th anniversary of Pakistan Television (PTV) at the Karachi station, Sindh Governor Kamran Khan Tesori lauded the national broadcaster for its significant role in shaping Pakistan’s identity and culture. Governor Tesori, who participated in the celebration and cut the anniversary cake, praised PTV’s long-standing contribution to informing and entertaining the nation.

According to Press Secretary to Governor Sindh, Governor Tesori emphasized that PTV has been a pillar of Pakistani society for nearly six decades, offering not only news and information but also a rich array of entertainment. He remarked on the broadcaster’s influence, noting that there was a time when PTV’s dramas would leave streets deserted as people gathered to watch. The Governor highlighted the educational and training value of these dramas for the new generation, underscoring the cultural and historical significance of PTV’s programming.

The Governor reminisced about PTV’s memorable and popular dramas, including titles like ‘Shikhim Balaghan’, ‘Shahzoori’, ‘Uncle Arfi’, ‘Jhok Sial’, ‘Waris’, ‘Alf Noon’, ‘Un Kahi’, ‘Angan Tedha’, ‘Fifty Fifty’, ‘Small World’, ‘Jungle’, ‘Andhera Ajala’, ‘Alones’, ‘Hum Safar’, and ‘Mere Paas Tum Ho’. These programs, he said, represent the glory and pride of Pakistan Television, illustrating its impact on Pakistani society and culture.

In his speech, Governor Tesori also touched upon the significance of IT courses, stating that they aim to empower the youth. He highlighted the government’s commitment to addressing people’s issues, noting that his welfare projects have not involved any government expenditure.

The celebration of PTV’s 59th anniversary serves as a reminder of the broadcaster’s enduring legacy in Pakistan, continuing to inform, entertain, and educate generations of Pakistanis.
