Pakistan Set to Commemorate Historic Day with Ceremonies and Celebrations

Islamabad: The nation is poised to celebrate Pakistan Day on Sunday, reaffirming its commitment to the country’s progress and stability. The day commemorates the adoption of the Lahore Resolution in 1940, which laid the groundwork for the creation of a separate homeland for the Muslims of South Asia.

The day will begin with a ceremonial 31-gun salute in the federal capital and a 21-gun salute in each of the provincial capitals. Special prayers will be conducted in mosques following Fajr prayers, focusing on the nation’s prosperity, progress, and solidarity.

A Pakistan Day parade is scheduled to take place on a limited scale at Aiwan-e-Sadr, in consideration of the ongoing month of Ramadan. President Asif Ali Zardari will preside over the event as the chief guest. The parade will feature active participation from contingents of the three-armed forces, and will include a flypast by the Pakistan Air Force fighter jets.

Later in the day, an investiture ceremony will be held at Aiwan-e-Sadar. President Zardari is set to bestow awards and medals on individuals who have made significant contributions in various fields.

In celebration of the day, the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) has released a special song titled “Meray Mehboob Pakistan – Meri Jaan Pakistan.” The song carries the message: “Aik Dil, Aik Jaan, Aik Pakistan.”

Radio Pakistan and Pakistan Television (PTV) are slated to broadcast special programs that highlight the day’s significance and pay tribute to the leaders of the Pakistan Movement.
