Karachi: Pakistan has introduced new digital financing, housing, and skills development programs aimed at expanding access to financial services nationwide. These initiatives are part of a broader effort to enhance economic participation across various sectors and address pressing energy concerns.
According to Radio Pakistan, the government has set an ambitious target to provide financial assistance to 750,000 new borrowers in the agricultural sector through digital financing platforms. This move seeks to empower farmers and boost agricultural productivity in the country. Furthermore, under the “Apna Ghar” housing scheme, approximately 11 billion rupees have been disbursed, marking a significant step towards increasing home ownership.
In the realm of electric vehicle adoption, over 40,000 applications have been processed under the newly introduced financing program, indicating a growing interest in sustainable transportation options. Additionally, the Energy Efficiency Financing Programme aims to replace 100 million fans, with reported electricity savings of up to 8,000 megawatts. These efforts are expected to contribute substantially to the country’s energy conservation goals.
