Islamabad: Chief Traffic Officer (CTO) Islamabad Kainat Azhar Khan has officially assumed her role, marking the beginning of her tenure with an immediate focus on traffic management and enforcement strategies. She convened a meeting with Zonal DSPs to review current practices and outline future directives aimed at enhancing the efficiency and effectiveness of traffic operations in the federal capital.
According to Islamabad Capital Police, Khan has prioritized the promotion of traffic discipline, improved management, and quality travel facilities. She has instructed officers to reinforce the enforcement of traffic laws rigorously, ensuring impartial actions against violators. Key areas of focus include addressing lane violations, one-way violations, mobile phone use while driving, seat belt compliance, illegal number plates, underage driving, and dangerous activities such as one-wheeling and drifting.
Khan highlighted the importance of daily monitoring and evaluation of zonal officers’ performance to ensure continuous improvements in traffic safety and efficiency. She assured that all resources and capabilities would be leveraged to introduce modern and innovative traffic management practices, aligning with contemporary standards to better serve the citizens of Islamabad.
