Islamabad, Pakistan has expressed appreciation for the Organization of Islamic Cooperation’s (OIC) steadfast support for Kashmir, highlighted during the 15th Islamic summit held recently in The Gambia. This reaffirmation of support comes at a crucial time as tensions continue over the disputed region.
According to Kashmir Media Service, Foreign Office Spokesperson Mumtaz Zahra Baloch, during her weekly briefing in Islamabad, underscored the significance of the OIC’s final communique, which solidified unwavering support and solidarity with the people of Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir. The communique supports their pursuit of self-determination in line with United Nations resolutions. Baloch reiterated Pakistan’s commitment to providing ongoing moral, political, and diplomatic support to the Kashmiri population.
In response to inquiries about dialogues with India, the spokesperson confirmed that no talks are currently underway, emphasizing the focus on the Kashmir issue as a core aspect of Pakistan’s foreign relations.
