Islamabad: Pakistan-China friendship is a cornerstone of national consensus, enjoying broad political support across Pakistan, according to Chairman Senate Syed Yousaf Raza Gilani. Speaking at a seminar in Islamabad, Gilani emphasized the enduring bond between the two nations, highlighting mutual trust, respect, and unwavering support as key elements of this relationship.
According to Press Information Department, the seminar was attended by notable figures, including Ambassador of the People’s Republic of China Jiang Zaidong and a delegation from the Party Building Research Institute of the Communist Party of China. In a special message conveyed by Chairman Senate from President Asif Ali Zardari, the President underscored the historical resilience of Pakistan-China relations and their role in mutual development.
Chairman Senate articulated the importance of continuous political and institutional engagement to strengthen bilateral ties and enhance people-to-people connections. He reaffirmed Pakistan’s commitment to the One-China policy and acknowledged China’s consistent support for Pakistan’s sovereignty and development. The event also marked the celebration of the 105th anniversary of the Communist Party of China, with Gilani expressing hope for continued cooperation and mutual learning between the two countries.
